Nigel has over 25 years’ experience in this field and has advised many global corporations
and brands on sustainability strategy and communications.
Nigel founded Salterbaxter in 1998 with Penny Baxter, and this company grew to become
one of the leading international sustainability consultancies. Salterbaxter was voted one of
the UK’s top 10 management consultancies in sustainability by the Financial Times.
Salterbaxter was sold to Publicis Groupe in 2014.
Nigel is now a director of a new consultancy, SB+CO, and a non-executive director for
several other companies in the UK and Europe.
Over the last two decades, he has worked on some of the most challenging and high-profile
sustainability/ESG strategy programs for companies in all sectors, all around the world
including: Anglo American; Arm; CHANEL; Coca-Cola; DSM; GE; GSK; H&M; L’OrĂ©al Group;
LEGO Group; Maersk Group; Novozymes; P&G; Pernod Ricard; Pepsico; Trafigura.
Nigel chairs or facilitates multiple sustainability advisory boards and panels.
Nigel is also the co-author of ‘Squaring the Sustainability Circle: Strategy Essentials for
Business Leaders’, with Annette Stube, John Kornerup Bang and Lene Bjþrn Serpa.
This book identifies the ways in which the sustainability agenda has evolved over recent
years and how it is now essential for company leaders to focus on creating value for both
business and society.
