Vesselina Haralampieva
is the Head of Sustainable Finance Governance and Regulation and Senior Counsel at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in London. In this role, she leads the bank’s climate change and sustainability policy initiatives, as well as legal reforms in the areas of sustainable finance, ESG reporting, climate governance and energy transition. Vesselina spearheaded the development of the EBRD’s Climate Toolkit for Nominee Directors and currently leads the bank’s sustainable transition programme (CCG Facility), which assists financial institutions and real-sector companies in designing transition plans and aligning their business models with the Paris agreement goals and sustainability standards.
Vesselina is also an Honorary Professor of Sustainable Finance at University College London’s Faculty of Laws. She actively contributes to expert groups focused on sustainable finance, climate law, and governance, including the Climate Change Working Group with the Law Society of England & Wales and the legal group of the Network for Greening the Financial Systems (NGFS). Additionally, she serves on the Governing Board of Chapter Zero Alliance.
Vesselina is admitted to practice as a solicitor in England & Wales and as a lawyer in Bulgaria. She holds law degrees from Harvard Law School and Sofia University.
